Anti-CCL2 (MCP-1)-PE, human

Overview

Clone REA248 recognizes the monocyte chemotactic protein 1 (MCP-1) antigen, a member of the beta (C-C) chemokine subfamily, which is also known as C-C motif chemokine 2 (CCL2) or monocyte chemotactic and activating factor (MCAF). MCP-1 is anchored in the plasma membrane of endothelial cells and is primarily secreted by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Platelet-derived growth factor is a major inducer of the MCP-1 gene. MCP-1 recruits monocytes, memory T cells, and dendritic cells to the sites of inflammation produced by either tissue injury or infection. It has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, or atherosclerosis.
Additional information: Clone REA248 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
