Overview

Rat CD134 MicroBeads have been developed for positive selection or depletion of activated CD4
+
T cells from blood, lymphoid organs, and non-lymphoid tissue, such as cerebrospinal fluid and spinal cord.

Detailed product information

Background information

Expression of CD134 is restricted to activated CD4
+
T cells and is up-regulated within hours after activation. CD134 and its ligand CD252 (CD134L, OX40L), which is expressed on activated T and B lymphocytes, are both members of the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily and were suggested to mediate the interaction between T cells and B cells.

Downstream applications

Rat CD134 MicroBeads can be used for the isolation of CD4
+
 T cells that were activated
in vivo
 or
in vitro
by a specific antigen, mitogen, or alloantigen. The magnetically enriched cells can subsequently be expanded in culture for studies on cytokine expression. Furthermore, the cells can be used for adoptive transfer or molecular analysis, such as TCR mapping.
