Overview

Clone REA240 recognizes BLNK protein phosphorylated at tyrosine 84. BLNK is an approximately 50 KDa src homology 2 and 3 domain–containing protein that bears homology to another adaptor molecule called SLP-76 and serves as a central linker/adaptor protein involved in bridging B cell receptor–associated kinase activation with downstream signaling pathways. BLNK is phosphorylated upon BCR stimulation and couples protein tyrosine kinase (PTK) Syk activation to downstream components such as Grb2, Vav, Nck, and phospholipase C (PLC)-γ2. Further, BLNK has been shown to play a role in the activation of all three classes of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs). Expression of BLNK is found in B cell lineage cells.
Additional information: Clone REA240 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors.
